A Garden Up The Stairs

This was an unusual garden in Kirkby Stephen that was placed on top of an old midden. It is accessed via a steep flight of stairs and so is very exposed to the elements. The client wanted a modern low maintenance garden that would provide a haven for themselves and for wildlife. Being in the heart of the old town without access from the road it proved tricky in terms of the delivery of supplies and waste management, with specialist trucks and cranes needed. As ever we used where possible local suppliers for both the patio stones and the plants.
